Frequency Vintage Up & Running!

Frequency Vintage Up & Running!

I took a few steps forward this weekend and setup my Etsy shop FREQUENCY VINTAGE.  I love Etsy, as a shopper and a seller.  It is a great place to find one of a kind gifts, DIY supplies and VINTAGE!!!!

TOP FIVE REASONS I CHOSE ETSY FOR MY ONLINE STORE
1. Easy and Free Shop Setup
2. Low cost $.20 per post and only 3.5% off the sale
3. Step by step listing that can be saved as a draft if not ready to post
4. Many ways to search = variety of shoppers
5. Smooth Purchasing for both customers and sellers

First thing I did was make my banner.  I wanted it to be clean,  fun and have a vintage feel.  I found a great font on dafont.com an awesome site with tons of free fonts that liven up anything you are working on.

Then, I got my first two items up and have much more in stock which I will post soon.

AWESOME Vintage 70’s Mod Dress $14.99

A black belt is a must have and this is in great condition, genuine leather and a nice price $7.

Got the ball rolling and am really loving shopping and sharing my finds.

Only ran into one problem, I can’t figure out how to post and Etsy mini shop as a widget in my side bar.  Any suggestions for WordPress?  I will be searching and hopefully get back soon with a solution.

Funky Friday!

Standard

This new segment FUNKY FRIDAY, is inspired by Funky Friday Happy hour at the Fire on Girard Ave in Philly, with Bartender Marcus jamming out to WXPN’s Funky Friday hosted by David Dye “Every Friday starting at 5pm, just when everybody needs it the most, we turn up the sub woofer and open the window at XPN and let the funk out!”

Let’s let our funk out and find a fun, fierce, fearless, fly ways to celebrate the end of the work week with our style.

Since Halloween is Monday, we are going to keep it spooky with SPIDERS!!!.

Remember those plastic spider rings?  Let’s turn it up a notch!

Jack Vartanian Fall 2011, and yeah, those are diamonds on a spider.
Don’t have a few grand stashed away in your piggie bank?

GLAM SPIDER RING  $7.50, perfect price to add a little funk.

Turn it up and tune in next Friday to see other ways to tear the roof off this mother!  But for now, you have been FUNKED!

“i wish i had anything remotely trendy enough to pull off the orange/black combo without looking hallow-lame.”

This comment on yesterday’s post inspired me to find more ways to combo orange and black without looking “hallow-lame.”  Check out the real life wicked ways these Chictopia members rocked black and orange without spooking the style out of you.

Fashion Forward

Standard

Simply said: My name is Bonnie and I want to open a clothing boutique in Philadelphia.  What better way to chart my progress than to blog it step by step?  This blog will follow the ups and downs, what keeps me inspired, what helps, what hurts, likes/dislikes and how am I going to finance this!!

I am going to jump right into the scariest part: Finance the Business.  Basically, I think I have a good eye for style and love clothing, consequently I want to own a boutique. So why not invest in that from the beginning? I am taking $300 and starting an online vintage boutique, Frequency Vintage.  What does it sell? Vintage items hand-picked by yours truly.

Goals of  “Frequency Vintage”
Finance a physical store front
Help specify my style niche
Help specify my client
Learn how to run an online shop
Setup an efficient way to track inventory
Setup an efficient way to track finances
Practice marketing techniques

Now, to finish this post, I have to shout out my inspiration of the day/blogging in general: BehindtheGreenVeil.blogspot.com    Never would I ever have started a blog without it!  Thanks Cyndi for showing how it’s done.

MORE ON FREQUENCY VINTAGE COMING SOON!!!!

Oh, also, gotta share a look of the day!  This can be anything from street style to a look from Tokyo Fashion Week (like today!)  Saw this crawling through style.com, talk about a modern vintage look:
